Question:
I currently have gas strut GN8-200-40 24270 on an RV bed and since adding a bed topper, the bed is hard to lift and doesn’t want to stay up. Any suggestions on what type of strut I need to replace this one?

Hey Sonia, I was able to determine that the struts you have now are 20 inches long when extended and have a lifting force of 40 lbs.
So if you wanted an extra 10 lbs of force you'd want the part # 372-5300-50, 20 lbs # 372-7901, 30 lbs # 3691843-70.
I'd see how much the bed topper weighs and base it around that. Probably the extra 10 lbs would be adequate.

Hey Sonia, did you have a chance to weigh the bed topper and decide on the right strut for your RV bed? I'm interested to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others facing a similar challenge.
