What Is The Best Way To Tow My 2015 Lincoln MKX Behind My Four Winds?

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 06/23/2025

Question:

I just bought a 2016 Coachman Four Winds class C motor home. I want to tow a 2015 Lincoln MKX. I’m a senior and need to find something easy to connect. What do you recommend?

Hey Terry,

In order to flat tow that Lincoln behind your motorhome you would need to attach baseplates to the front of that vehicle. We have 2 options from Roadmaster, depending on if your vehicle has adaptive cruise control or not.

With Adaptive Cruise Control: # 4408-1
Without Adaptive Cruise Control: # 4408-5 & # 910021-00

I will personally say installing these base plates do require the removal of the front bumper and some trimming of the plastic fascia. In terms of ease of install, I would say it has its difficulties. With that said I did attach a video of these being installed on that same vehicle to give you an idea of what you would be getting yourself into.

Let me know if that looks like something you want to do and I can put together a list of parts you would also need to flat tow that vehicle.

Hey Terry, did the video help you decide if installing the baseplates is something you want to tackle? If you’re still considering your options, I’m here to help with any further questions you might have.
