Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/01/2025

Question:

I have an older 18 foot camper with 2 axels. It sits quite low. Springs are good. Can i move a axel to the under spring position?

Hello David, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it may be possible to flip the leaf spring pack up to the top of the axle. We carry kits called "over-under" kits that are made specifically for this purpose. You will just need to select the correct kit depending on your axle diameter. Take a look at the following:

2-3/8" Axles - Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00

3" Axles # - Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00

These kits include everything you need to move the spring pack to the top of the axle. Keep in mind for a tandem axle trailer you will need two kits.

What kind of camper do you have? Just curious.

Hey David, did you get a chance to try the over-under kit on your camper? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others with similar setups.
