Determining Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount for Subaru Outback Towing Forest River Premier
Updated 06/03/2025 | Published 05/31/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I see you guys usually try to help people so I was seeing if you can help me. I recently got a new car, a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness with the factory installed hitch, and I have a 2011 Rockwood / Forest River Permier popup camper 175 80R13 tires and I am just trying to figure out what size ball mount I need 2” , 4” , etc.? I had a 2005 Ford F-150 before and I knew that one but I don’t think this is the same and I need to get one before I go to pull it out or storage. I really appreciate all of the help you can give me!

Hey Mitchell, I don't have a way to know exactly what you'd need but I can most likely get you pretty close if you can get me the distance from the ground to the top of the hitch opening on your Subaru Outback. With that info I can most likely get close as the coupler height of your trailer is PROBABLY right around 16 inches.
