Can 2017 SportTrek STT336VRK Be Converted to Dexter Axles

Question:

I have a 2017 SportTrek STT336VRK and was wondering if I could convert it to Dexter axles like on a Rockwood or Airstream. Just found 2 axle springs broken. Thanks for the help. Open Roading and Wild RV Life mention you guys all the time.

Hey Chris, those are both great channels, glad you found us! You can certainly switch to Dexter axles on your 2017 SportTrek STT336VRK. However, we have no way of knowing what kind of axle you have on there now so you will need to identify it first. The best way to do this is by looking for an axle tag. If you can send me a picture of your axle tag I can use that to identify your current axle and see if a replacement is available.

If the tag is worn or missing you will need to get some measurements to find a replacement. I went ahead and attached some links for help articles below which explain how to measure and how to find your axle capacity if it isn't listed anywhere. If you can add your capacity, hub face measurement, and spring center measurement in the comments below I'll see what we have.

I wasn't looking for a replacement oem axle, I wanted to swap out the leaf spring axles for the Dexter torsion independent axles. 5k capacity

@ChrisO ah I see. Your best bet is to reach out directly to Dexter then. We don't sell Torflex/torsion axles but they can get you what you need based on your trailer and measurements.
