How to Find Suspension Components for 3" Square Axle Welded to Trailer Frame

Question:

Hi. I bought a homemade trailer last year and it does not have any suspension the axle is welded to the frame. I would like to buy a leaf spring kit to i stall but I cannot seem to find the right one on your site. My axle is 3 inches by 3 inches square and i can’t find a complete kit with hangers for purchase. Do I need to buy each of the components individually? Let me know. Thanks.

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out!

Yes, you will need to buy the different components separately. We have single axle hanger kits like # APS4 that will get you part of the way there, but I'll also need to know the weight rating for your axle in order to recommend a leaf spring.

You'll also need a U-bolt kit, and for that you'll need to pick it up at a local trailer shop as we only go up to 2" square axles with our U-bolt kits.

Let me know what your axle is rated for (you can find a tag at the front of your trailer and/or in the middle of the axle) and I'll be happy to help you find a leaf spring that works!
