2003 Hummer H2 Roof Rack Recommendation for Roof Top Tent

Question:

Im looking to mount a roof nest 10 on top of my 03 Hummer h2. The top is currently naked with nothing on it is there a product you can recommend that will support the weight of the roof nest and me in it.

Hey Eduardo, thanks for reaching out!

We have exactly what you need with the Yakima SkyLine Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points # Y67KB. This installs to the tracks on top of your Hummer and has a high enough weight rating to handle the Roof Nest 10 just fine. I'm not sure what mounting kit you have for your roof tent, but the crossbars on this kit only measure 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/8" tall which is pretty standard and shouldn't be giving you any mounting issues.

What kind of camping trips are you planning on taking?

Thanks for the reply. That says the max weight is 165 lb. The tent itself weighs 150. Once I climb in it will add an additional 200. Would this still support the weight?

@Eduardo Good question. The 165 lb rating is for the dynamic (or "traveling") weight rating. The static rating is higher, and will be able to handle both the tent and yourself just fine.
