Will The Curt Helux Pin Box Work With My Lippert 1621 Pin Box?

Updated 05/12/2025 | Published 05/06/2025

Question:

Will a Curtis Helux shock absorbing pin box work in place of my Morryde pin box on my 2021 Jayco North Point 310? Reads like the tongue weight would be at the high end or over the max capacity of the 18,000 lb model so I would have to go with the 24,000 if compatible. Thanks, Lee

Hey Lee,

For your specific pin box and bolt pattern we do not have a Curt Helux for it yet. Based off of your photo the pin box on your trailer is going to be the Lippert 1621 model, or the Lippert 1621 bolt pattern. We do have a # LC369535, Curt Flex Air, pin box available for that bolt pattern. This is not going to be up to the the 24,000lb, but offers a 21,000lb capacity on it. There is a Gen-Y option for you as well, # GY68GR, for a 30,000lb capacity.

Like the Curt Hellux internal spring, the Gen-Y hitch has a similar torsion rubber spring inside that limits that road shock. The Gen-Y would be my recommendation for a comparable alternate, the Curt Flex Air is a good option as well, it just features an internal air bag that reduces the shock. The spring, or torsion rubber springs just do a much better job of creating a smoother ride for you.

Were you set on the Curt Helux?

The Curt Helux looks more like what I would believe to be more beneficial with a shock controlling the spring versus just a rubber torsion spring. Thanks for the response. I’ll wait until there is a compatible bolt configuration.

@KennethL I would agree with you on that. I did reach out to Curt to get an idea or estimate on when they will have one for your bolt pattern so when I hear back I will let you know!
