Question:
i want to know about lifting a 20 rv trailer a bit - inch or two. I once saw a trailer that had the springs unbolted from the shackle, a metal block put in and the spring attached to the block about 2s lower. Is that a thing? My son read that flipping an axel - putting spring under axel is bad but there are many kits and videos. What would you recommend?

Hey Omer! What kind of trailer do you have? I haven't heard of anyone adding a metal block to their leaf spring but people do all kinds of things to trailers they shouldn't. People also flip their axles all the time to lift their trailer. If you went by a dealership and looked at the travel trailers and 5th wheels on the lot you would find that almost all of them have the leaf springs mounted on top of the axle.
Unless you already have an overslung configuration with leaf springs on top this is the best way to gain height/clearance. If you have a 2-3/8" diameter axle you need the # K71-384-00 and for a 3" diameter axle # K71-385-00. It is perfectly safe and better than cutting off your hangers to weld on longer hangers to achieve a lift.
