What 12v Power Source Can Be Used For Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater FR98SR?

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 05/01/2025

Question:

I need to install a new propane water heater in my camper. I don’t have any existing wiring as my previous water heater didn’t require it. Can I safely splice into my water pump supply? Both the water pump and the water heater use 12v

Hello Krystle, thanks for reaching out. Yes it is fine to splice into the water pump supply when installing the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR. It really just needs power for the ignitor and thermostat so it doesn't pull very much. I talked to one of our techs here and he said for his water heater he spliced into "whatever random BS" meaning whatever 12v power source was nearest most accessible.

Hi Krystle, did you find that splicing into the water pump supply worked well for your Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater installation? I'm asking because your experience could help others who are in a similar situation.
