Why Would Side of Trailer Tire Wear Out
Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/28/2025 >
Question:
I have a dual wheel tandem gooseneck and I keep having tire wear issue. I keep having tires wear about 4 inches completely bald and the rest of the tire is fine. It’s only on one side of the tire it’s not all the way across. What would cause this? It’s happened to at least one tire on each hub

Hey Weston, this issue is either from a worn out/broken suspension component or an alignment issue. You'd want to go over the suspension looking for anything broken and fix as necessary and if you find nothing you'd want to take the trailer to a shop who can to trailer alignments and let them fix it.

Hey Weston, did you have a chance to check the suspension or get the alignment done on your gooseneck trailer? I'm curious to know if that helped resolve the tire wear issue.
