Does Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender Affect Hitch Weight Capacity

Question:
Using this has the affect of extending the load on the hitch receiver. Does this reduce the factory hitch weight rating? Thanks.

Hey Ed, yes the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender part # SAR36VR will affect the weight capacity of the hitch it is installed in. It will cut the tongue weight capacity by 50 percent this is due to the additional length added to the hitch setup.
