Need Replacement Lug Nuts For Grand Design 260RD With Dexter Axles

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 04/20/2025

Question:

Im looking to replace the clad lug nuts on our Grand Design 260RD with Dexter axles 7783221. The current nut requires a 19mm socket and I have no idea what the thread size is. Im looking at this part but want to make certain it will fit before ordering: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/DeeMaxx/DE55KR.html. AJ

Hello AJ, thanks for getting in touch. We should certainly have a lug nut that will work for you, but sadly there is no way for me to look up your camper to know exactly what size you will need. RV manufacturers just do not list this kind of info online. They are most likely 1/2" - 20 lug nuts since this is by far the most common size for campers. You could always take one of your lug nuts to a hardware store and confirm this. Most trailer axles rated under 7K use 1/2" - 20 studs, so if this is what you have, I recommend the following:

- DeeMaxx Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - Stainless Steel - 1/2" - Qty 1 # DE55KR

If you end up needing a different size stud just let me know.

Hey AJ, did you have a chance to confirm the lug nut size at a hardware store? I'm curious to know if the DeeMaxx lug nut worked out for your Grand Design camper, as it could help others in a similar situation.

@JesseM I have not had a chance to take off a luggage nut and take it to a local auto parts store to verify the size. We may not be keeping this RV, so for now this is on hold.

@AJ Fair enough. Just thought I'd check in. You know where to find me if you need anything!
