Question:
Hi- I’m noticing the axle is starting to slightly bend on my overland trailer. I need a 57 inch axle. I think the current axle is only rated for 2000 pounds. Can you send me some options that would be at least 3500 pounds to 4500.

Hello Christina,
We do have a great option for you but it’s not your traditional axle. In fact, it’s something even better. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR3500S05 would be an excellent fit for your Overland trailer, and it’s rated for 3,500 lbs.
One important note: the Axle-Less system does require crossmember support. If your trailer doesn’t currently have a crossmember, you can either retrofit one or add support by running a piece of 2" x 2" steel tubing through the square holes in the units. You could also reinforce the frame with a steel bracket on the inside.
If you need hubs as well, go with # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K if you do not have brakes. If you plan to add electric brakes, use #AKHD-545-35-K. Both hubs feature a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and use inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649.
Axle measurements are very specific. Our only straight axle close to 57" hub face to hub face is a 57-1/2" option rated for 1,800 lbs. I’ve attached an image showing how to measure the hub face distance, along with a helpful article in case you'd like to double-check your measurements.
You won’t be disappointed with the Timbren system, it’s a really neat setup. I’ve also linked a video so you can get a better look at how it works.
Let me know what you think!
