What Air Bag Kit Is Compatible With B&W Turnoverball On 1999 Ford F-250 2WD?
Question:
I have a 1999 F-250, 2wd, extended cab short bed, with 7.3L diesel. It currently has Firestone airbags, not 100 sure of model number. I can buy new ones if needed. The end goal is to install a BW turn over ball, part BWGNRK1108, so I can use my companion slider 5th wheel. I’ve found conflicting information on compatibility with the BW turnover gooseneck hitch and airbags. It appears that the Firestone F2550 airbag may be compatible, but not 100 sure. Other airbags that look like they would possibly work is Airlift AL88393, or AL57397. But the Airlift has a note that it won’t work with BW box mounted hitch? So would it be compatible with gooseneck turn over?? Can I buy different brackets to make something work?? Any insight into a solution would be appreciated!! Thank You!!

Hello Dan, thanks for reaching out. The Firestone # F2550 for the 1999 Ford F-250 2WD will be compatible with the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch. The brackets are designed specifically to be compatible with in-bed hitches like the B&W, so if that is what you have now, you would not need to change anything. Hard to say for sure without knowing exactly which kit you have installed currently, but the # F2550 will undoubtedly be compatible.
Then, the correct B&W hitch for your truck is part # BWGNRK1108.
I hope this helps. Feel free to leave a reply with any other questions or comments and I will get back to you.

Thanks for the info Jesse. Update: I did figure out that the actual airbags installed are Firestone F2330. The brackets look very similar, if not the same as the F2550. Do you by chance have any way to cross reference the Firestone F2330 number and see if it was superseded by the F2550?? Or, if the F2330 will be compatible with the gooseneck hitch? The F2330 number doesn’t come up on your website or any others. I’d hate to by a new set of F2550 bags and find out they’re identical to what I already have. I’m going to order the BWGNRK1108 and get that on the way. Thanks!!
