Firestone Coil Helpers And Compressor Kit For 2023 Toyota Sienna AWD Platinum

Updated 04/08/2025 | Published 04/03/2025

Question:

Hello, considering pairing this with the Firestone helper springs F4155 for my 2023 Toyota Sienna AWD Platnium, planning to install a hitch mainly for use with a bike rack. The main issue I am hoping to alleviate is scraping when entering my severely angled driveway while loaded, will the airbags help in this instance? Also, I notice it is single line, so that means the airbags will have the same pressure rating, but can a bag be manually deflated to adjust with this system installed? Thanks for your time.

Hello Nick, thanks for reaching out.

To answer your first question, coil helpers like the Firestone # F4155 will not raise your Sienna beyond the factory ride height. If the hitch and bike rack are causing some squatting, the air bags will help to minimize that. I used to have a 2013 Sienna and it rode pretty low as well. Really no good way around this unfortunately.

For the second question, the # AL25804 compressor is a single path compressor, meaning both bags will be inflated to the same pressure at all times. There would be no way to manually deflate just one side. If you are doing just a hitch and bike rack, you would want both bags at the same PSI at all times. There would be no need to adjust one side more than another. Dual path compressors are really only necessary for trucks with big campers in the bed or service bodies where one side is constantly loaded more than another.

Lastly, the if you wanted the ability to fill both bags independently, the # F4155 kit comes with two air valves. So you could run a separate air line to each bag and have two air valves mounted on the bumper. Then just use a tire inflator or other pump to fill them as needed. I used to carry a basic compressor like part # BDW41001 in my Sienna for topping off tires. Something like that could be used to fill air bags as well. In my opinion though, a single path compressor system is all you would need.

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out with any other questions or comments and I am happy to get back to you.

Thanks for the information provided so far Jesse, If the airbag is pressed up fairly high, it will prevent the excessive spring compression from the load correct? Because when I enter my angled driveway on the hill, I have to hop a curb and be at the correct angle to prevent scraping of the driver's side plastic mudguard and bottom corner of the bumper. This is successful when I am alone in the vehicle with minimal load, but with a person in the middle or back seats, or items in the back after a Costco run, is enough weight to scrape, the hitch weight alone might be enough to scrape once installed without air bag assistance!

@NickK The positioning of the coil helper spring really would not make a a big difference. You could try inching it up slightly, but I do not think this would make any noticeable difference in performance. These coil springs really are just there to add a bit of support. They may help the van to sag a bit less after those Costco runs (I know how it is lol. Impossible to go there and spend less than $300). They may not leave things perfectly leveled out, so just to set realistic expectations, while they may help, they may not completely fix the scraping issue.
