Best Way to Add Crossbar Over Cab of Truck that Has Thule TracONE Ladder Rack

Question:
I am possibly looking for a crossbar for the cab of my short bed F-150 2017. I currently have a Thule tracone in black and would like the ability to extend long ladders onto a crossbar onto the cab. Not sure if that particular brand crossbar is available in a cab mount and of course a level height would be necessary. Thank you

Hey Scott, for what you are wanting I believe your best solution would be the Thule Cantilever Extension part # TH24001XT. This attaches to the front load bar of your Thule TracOne ladder rack and gives you a crossbar that would be over the cab of the truck and would be level with the other bars of your ladder rack. Putting together a single crossbar roof rack for your truck could work but most likely the bar wouldn't be level with the ladder rack bars as they typically sit up a bit higher like you can see in the attached picture.

Hey Scott, how did the Thule Cantilever Extension work out for your F-150 setup? Did it give you the level crossbar height you were looking for with your TracOne rack? Your update could make it easier for others working on a similar ladder setup.
