Looking For Disc Brake Conversion For 2001 A/M Tandem Axle Trailer

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/09/2025

Question:

2001 V\M tandem trailer loaded with a Centurion 22’ v-Drive. Surge hydraulic drums on 1 axle. I don’t know the actual axle sizes. I’ve enclosed the trailer vin plate. Can you recommend a disc conversion kit, and replacement hubs for the idle axle? Rob

Hey Rob, thanks for reaching out. We may have disc brake conversion parts for you, but I will need to gather a bit more information from you.

You will need to replace your actuator with one that is disc brake compatible like the Demco # DM62VR.

Since this trailer is older you will need to remove a hub and pull the bearings to determine the correct hubs. Each bearing will have a number stamped on the edge, or you can measure the ID with a micrometer. Also measure the ID of your seal and your hub bolt pattern. There is no way to use the VIN to look up this info unfortunately.

Drop that info in a comment below and I am happy to look into it and recommend parts

Hey Rob, were you able to pull the bearings and get those measurements from your trailer hubs? Once you have that info, I can help narrow down the right disc conversion kit and replacement hubs. Let me know what you find so we can get you set up.
