Where is the Brake Controller Connector in My 2024 Ram 1500 Classic? What Connector is on the Back?

I just got a 2024 ram 1500 classic and want to put a trailer break on it. The factory ones I don’t have a slot where they show it’s supposed to go so do I need it under the dash one and I only have a six pin Hook up to set the trailer break and if so, what do I need from this particular model?

Hello again Brett,
Congrats on the new truck! I am pretty sure that the connector on the back of your 2024 Ram 1500 Classic is a 7-way connector, you are supposed to count all the slots and include the piece in the middle. I attached some pictures for you to review so you can compare it to what you have.
All of the 2024 Ram 1500 Classics are equipped with wiring harness connector to my knowledge. For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Dash Knob - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional # RED87CR, I really like how the knob is on the dash so you can easily adjust the brake setting, and it is handy for the manual override if you ever find yourself if that emergency situation . The connector for the vehicle specific pigtail is a little hidden, I attached the install video and a couple of images to help you find it. If you watch the video I attached, at 3 minutes and 31 seconds you will see where the point out the hidden blue tape where the connector is.
Please let me know if you have a 6 way on the back or not, and if you were able to find the vehicle brake controller connector.

Hey Brett, were you able to find the brake controller connector with the blue tape on your Ram 1500 Classic? It’d be great to hear if the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty worked out for your setup. Your update could make it easier for others wiring a controller on the same truck.
