Recommended SumoSprings for a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 Pulling a 44' Trailer

Updated 03/05/2025 | Published 03/01/2025

Question:

I have a 2022 GMC 2500 Sierra AT4. I pull a 44 foot toy hauler trailer that makes my truck squat pretty good. I have read that the Sumo spring will give me a better ride then the Timbren. If that is true, does Sumo make something for my truck?

Hey Jeffery yes that's true. SumoSprings are going to give you a better ride because SumoSprings are progressive springs, so their initial engagement is lighter than the Timbrens.

There are a bunch of different ones for your GMC, but I'd suggest going with the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-203-47-2 because these are rated a bit higher and you're pulling a pretty big trailer.

These springs have a bolt on install, are maintenance free because there is no tubing, and includes all the necessary hardware. If there is anything else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know.

SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-203-47-2. I see these are the springs that you suggest. I don't pull my toy hauler full time so I have a very good ride with my stock suspension when I am not pulling my trailer or have anything in my bed and I don't want to lose that. Some of the comments make me think the ones you suggest would be for full time hauling my toy hauler which I don't.

@Jeff Gotcha, yeah if you're not full time hauling then I'd go with # SSR-203-40-2 which has a 3k capacity so they'll be more geared toward more infrequent towing.
