Does the Curt or Draw-Tite Hitch Block the Lift Gate Sensor on a 2025 Lexus RX 350h?

Question:

Have you found a way to help the Lift Gate Sensor work better with this hitch yet?

Not that I have heard of but that's typically not an achievable goal of the manufacturer's. The Curt Hitch item # C29VV is a better option for the 2025 Lexus RX 350h. It doesn't have that piece of angle iron mounted between the crossbar and the receiver so it blocks less of the sensor's view.

What usually happens with the lift gate sensors is that the 2" receiver blocks it right at the center of your bumper and you have to kick to the left or right. I have linked a video below demonstrating this. You'll want to skip ahead to the 40 second mark.

What are you planning on using this hitch for?

I am planning on using mine for a cargo carrier but was advised by my installer to go with the DrawTite because of the 525 pound tongue weight capacity in case we get bikes later or an electric scooter or wheel chair. I was think inking maybe the sensor could be relocated over a few inches perhaps

@Dave Your 2025 Lexus RX 350h's maximum tongue weight capacity is 350 lbs no matter which hitch you put on it. The Curt item # C29VV will get you there. Moving that liftgate sensor is going to be a Lexus question. We do not have or know of anyway to move those sensors.
