Question:

Hoping to tow my 2014 Grand Caravan behind motorhome on a tow dolly. Manual doesn’t give detailed instructions. Do I put transmission in neutral ?

Hey Arnold! Take a look at page 554 of your owner's manual to find the steps for recreational towing. It looks like you can dolly tow the van as long as you have the front wheels off the ground. It states to drive the front wheels onto the dolly and then firmly apply the parking brake. Place the transmission in park. Properly secure the front wheels to the dolly and then release the parking brake. Make sure to follow all of the steps listed in the manual.

It also looks like your tread width is too wide for the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 which adjusts out to 77". You may be able to use the Demco Kar Kaddy X # DM9713093 which has a max tread width of 78" but I would measure to be sure. Looking it up online the width of your 2014 Grand Caravan is 78.7" so it may not fit. If you can't fit it on a tow dolly the only option is to put it on a trailer.

Hey Arnold, did you get a chance to check if your Grand Caravan fits on the Demco Kar Kaddy X or if you had to go with a trailer instead? Knowing what worked could help others towing similar vans.
