Can Timbren Kit Fit with Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit on 2022 Chevy Colorado

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 02/15/2025

Question:

I have a 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 crew cab. I currently have the road active suspension on it for towing. Is it possible or even worth it to install the timbren bump stops in conjunction with the RAS system? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Christopher, I would not recommend that as the Timbrens are notoriously harsh. The two would technically fit together but if you have your RAS kit all the way maxed out and still need more support you probably are over the capacity of your truck. Is that possible?

Hey Christopher, did you find that your RAS setup gave you enough support for towing without adding the Timbrens? Your experience could help others trying to balance ride comfort and load support on their Colorado.

@JamesonC Yes, I stuck with just the RAS system by itself. It handles the trailer and load I am towing absolutely fantastic. I did not add timbrens because I thought that if I needed both, then I'm probably passed the towing capacity and hitch weight.

@ChristopherH Nice! Yeah I love when I can convince people to try the RAS kits as they really are the best all around solution and we always get really great feedback from people who try it. Your logic on if you needed the Timbrens too is accurate as well.
