Hello Joe,

You don't want to hear it slide while not in use? I am sure that is not annoying at all, LOL. Here is what you can do to fix it. To prevent your Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM59SV from sliding when not in use, adjust the outrigger bar assembly located at the end plate near the tailgate. Loosen the bolts, raise the bar until it’s snug against the truck bed, and then tighten the bolts to secure it. This stabilizes the hitch and prevents movement. Additionally, check that all mounting hardware and slider mechanisms are properly secured.

I attached an image where I highlighted the outrigger bar, and I also included a link to the instructions.

Once you get things situated and take your first drive, please let me know how you like the silence =)

Hey Joe, how did things go after you adjusted the outrigger bar on your Demco Autoslide hitch? Did it stop the sliding noise when the trailer isn’t hooked up? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same issue.
