Question:

I tow 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat using a brake buddy. I want to switch to wired brakes. What do I need?

Hello David,

I don't blame you on wanting to do a one time install instead of taking the brake buddy in and out each time. For a wired in braking system it depends on what kind of brakes your coach has.

- For Air brakes: Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional # SM99243

- For Hydraulic brakes: Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

With either braking systems you will also need to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to prevent your car's brake signal from overriding the turn signal that comes from your RV while flat towing.

I've included a couple of install videos so you can see what you are getting into. Once you get the new braking system put in please let me know how you like it.

Thank you. Just what I needed. Unfortunately I guess I'm stuck with the Brake Buddy.

@DavidY I am sorry to hear that. I like to look at the bright things, good work out taking in and out the Brake Buddy. Safe Travels =)
