RV Roof Vent Cover that Can be Used on 2021 Lance Trailer with FanTastic Roof Vent

Question:

I’m going to install a cover over a fantastic vent fan that is 14”x14”. This is on a 2021 Lance trailer. There are no clips for the cover, so I would have to drill holes in the surround to mount the brackets. I’m am just wondering which cover would allow clearance for the motorized cover to travel to its fullest opening.

Hey Ed, the Dometic FanTastic RV Roof Vent Trailer Vent Cover part # FVU1500WH that you referenced would work for you and comes with hardware to attach to the vent surround like you mentioned. This is also tall enough to all the full air flow your roof vent is capable of as well.

While the lid won't be completely vertical under this cover it would be open enough that all of the air flow the vent is capable of moving would be possible. Basically the roof vents hit max air flow potential long before they are completely open since it's not that high volume of air that moves through them.
