What 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 Fuse is for AUX Pin on 7-Way Socket

Updated 01/03/2025 | Published 01/01/2025

Question:

I have a 2015 Chevy 3500 HD diesel 4wd crew cab long bed pickup not a dually and I cannot get the interior lights on my enclosed trailer to work. The auxiliary in n the 7 pin hookup has no power to it and I am not sure from the owners manual which fuse controls this blade.

Hey Dave, thanks for reaching out!

I wasn't able to find the fuse for the AUX pin on your 7-Way either, but we still might be able to get your trailer interior lights back up and working.

A lot of times the interior lights of a trailer are tired to the 12V power pin and connected either directly to that pin on the trailer plug, or to a battery in the trailer. Try checking fuse 2 in the engine bay fuse compartment and making sure you have power to that 12V pin (in the 1 o'clock position - see photo).

If that looks good and has power to that pin and you can verify your trailer interior lights do pull power from the AUX pin, then I recommend looking at all of the fuses in the "miscellaneous" and "spare" positions. You might be able to get a local Chevy dealer to recommend a pin, but they typically read it out of the manual so I'm not entirely confident that will help you out.

You can also try hooking the trailer up to a vehicle with a 7-Way that has a known working AUX pin to verify if that's the problem.

Let me know what you find out in the comment section below!

Thanks, Jon. It turns out that it was the 30 amp fuse 2 that was burned out. It would be nice if GM would have noted that it's the auxiliary trailer power.
