Hello Brian.
Here are some ways to see if your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is ready for a back up camera:
- Does your truck have a display screen? If so, when you back up does it say something like, "No Camera Detected."
- Inspect the wiring. Take a look around the tailgate near the license plate area to see if there's wring or a connector already in place for a camera. Some models come pre-wired even if your truck did not come with a camera.
- Check for a camera mount.
- Look up your trucks features by using a free Vin Decoder.
- Ask your dealership. If you call your local Chevy dealership they will be able to look up your VIN to see if it is pre-wired
