Question:
For towing a 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible behind a truck or an RV. Is this dolly suitable? Also, can I use my electric brake controller instead of the surge?

Hey Daniel,
Yes, the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes # DM9713045 would be more than suitable, but you wouldn't be able to use your brake controller without having to replace the entire brake system on the dolly upgrade to an electric-over-hydraulic setup, which can be expensive.
Instead I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 which comes with electric brake assemblies that would be compatible with your brake controller. I've attached a short video below where you can take a closer look at this tow dolly.
I would also check your owner's manual before purchasing to ensure that your specific Mini model can be dolly towed.
