What is the difference between this model Y87NJ and Y54HV?

Hey Greg, so this is a great question and the difference is pretty small. The Yakima LockNLoad part # Y54HV uses the Skyline towers and the part # Y87NJ uses the similar TrackTower. The towers are pretty similar and perform same function so if it was my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited I would go with whichever has the better price.
