Updated 11/18/2024 | Published 11/17/2024

Question:

I am researching bike racks. interested in Kuat ctr piston pro for two 63 pound ebikes for use on a promoter 3500 camper van with frame mounted 2 inch hitch. Kuat seems to waffle with camper van and motor home and rv used interchangeably though they correctly note they are referring to sub 10000pound gross weight vehicles they have a sentence saying lower weight may be necessary but a box stating that with rv ‘s bikes have a 42 pound limit. My camper can if i remember correctly has a sub 60 inch rear axle to hitch distance. Can i use it with two 63 pound bikes Thank you

Hey Alex thanks for the information! A Ram ProMaster 3500 camper van is considered a class B RV. While you can use the Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack item # KU98VR with it you will be limited to the lower weight capacity of 42 lbs per bike.

For two 63 lbs e-bikes, I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack item # HLY64FR which has a 80 lbs per bike capacity. This bike rack has rotating padded clamps that will secure your e-bikes no matter what style frame you have and avoid any protentional compatibility issues with fenders.

I have linked a review video below so you can see the features of this bike rack demonstrated.
