Question:
Hello, I am interested in the Dexter 9000lb leaf spring part number DX83QR, but I am looking for some more information about the product to determine if it is the right fit. Would you be able to provide me with the effective spring rate of the spring? If not, could you please provide me with the length of each individual leaf of the spring? Thank you

Hello Nicholas.
I had to reach out to my contact at Dexter to try to get the information you requested. Now they can't give all their secrets out on their parts, but they were able to provide me with the following information:
The information we can share is that unloaded height of the spring from front eye center to top of leaf spring stack is 3.84” and that same dimension loaded to 2250 lb is 2.75” approximately.
To help ensure fitment I am attaching a picture to show how to measure the one you are replacing. You want to measure it unloaded, so if needed please make sure to jack the trailer up to get as much weight off of it. Also, they do stretch out over time, so your measurement is going to be a little longer than the size you will need to order. The Dexter 6-Leaf Slipper Spring # DX83QR is 30" long, 2" wide, and is for 9K axles. If the measurements are way off from the one you are trying to replace, please let me know so we can ensure you are getting the correct one.

Hey Nicholas, how did your measurements compare with the Dexter 6-leaf slipper spring? Knowing whether the 30-inch length matched your old spring could help others checking fitment for their trailers. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same question.
