Is Removing Rear Shock on 2024 Ford F-350 an Issue With B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

2024 f350 8 foot bed no hitch prep I've read reports that this hitch will restrict the shock removal. Is this true or has a revision been made to correct the design ?

Hey Michael,

Really good question, and I reached out to B&W for you, who said there will not be an issue removing the rear shock on your 2024 Ford F-350 with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BW73FR.

This is in line with what I have heard, which are that the issues with the rear shock removal were for earlier model year F-350's, up to 2022. The # BW73FR is for the 2023+ model years, and we haven't had a single report of this issue with this hitch.

So that's good news if you were looking to add this hitch to your truck. And in the interest of being thorough, I wanted to mention that if you also need a gooseneck wiring harness, the correct part for your '24 F-350 is the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness for Aluminum Truck Beds # 50-97-410-010.

Kyle, I just found out today that I can't remove the passenger side rear shock due to a prior installation of a BW underbed gooseneck hitch on my 2018 F450. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm looking for another brand of underbed hitch manufacture I can switch to which will not have such a glaring problem. Thanks for your help! Brian

@Brian The Reese kit part # RP39FR is a fit for your truck and due to it only attaching to the inboard side of your truck frame it should give you ability to replace shocks.
