Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. Our best over-the-bed crossbar option for the 2025 GMC Sierra EV is the Yakima BedRock HD Truck Bed Rack # Y01160-59. The EV model is quite new, so we have not had a chance to test fit this, and there is no fitment information out there for this vehicle. Looking at the pictures on the GMC site, the bed rails on the EV version look more or less identical to the bed rails on the non-EV models. The BedRock rack is a pretty simple bolt-on install. We know it will fit the 2024 GMC 1500 bed rails as you can see in the video below. Given that the bed rails on the EV are so similar, and the fact that the mounting brackets on the BedRock rack are so adjustable, this will definitely be your best bet for mounting your Kuat Piston SR # KU32VR over the bed.

Hi Jesse, Thanks for prompt feedback. I am looking for the most minimalistic setup. The sales manager at Kuat says pretty much all crossbars are compatible, but personally uses Yakima's Corebars. Looking on their site, looks JetSteam might be an even sleeker option. 2 other considerations: 1). The mounting hardware as this truck (have not picked up yet) might come with a tonneau cover. 2). Bar width: I'd like to go the bar length that sticks out the least on each side. Looks like different models come in different widths so that might help be a determining factor. For example, the model you sent is 78" whereas the CoreBar is 70" Look forward to your feedback. Thanks,

@Mike The tonneau cover would absolutely affect fitment of the ladder rack. If it does end up coming with a tonneau we would have to go in a different direction like the Yakima Overhaul HD # Y01151-5955 which comes with a tonneau cover adapter. The only problem with this is there is no guarantee of fitment until we get our hands on a Sierra EV and test it out ourselves. The BedRock # Y01160-59 is a much more universal fit so I am much more confident in that recommendation. You are right that the JetStream bars are more aerodynamic, but there is no way to attach this kind of bar over the bed. These would only go on the roof, and again, we would need fitment info before we can say what fits.

@JesseM I've done some more research since we connected last week. Yakima does not have a tested & approved solution for the GMC Sierra EV. They say the bed has changed from the gas powed Sierra affecting tower mounting: https://yakima.com/collections/towers I'm pretty sure based on Kuat feedback the CoreBar or JetStream will work. https://yakima.com/products/jetstream https://yakima.com/products/corebar I'm also wanting the lowest profile solution with a 71" bar length. The option you recommended above is 78" which would stick out too far from each side of truck, but I'll have to go with it if I can't find a Yakima solution. https://accessories.gmc.com/product/bed-mounted-cross-rails-85621984?body=Crew%20Cab%20Pickup&bodyId=22&bodyNumDoors=5&bodyNumDoorsId=5&drive=AWD&driveId=6&engine=-L%20--%20BATTERY%20EV%20(EV%2FBEV)&engineId=1133&make=GMC&makeId=48&model=Sierra%20EV&modelId=31387&trim=Denali&trimId=577&wheel=145.7&wheelId=299&year=2025&bac=113951 Please let me know your thoughts. @Mike Like you said there are no approved solutions for the Sierra EV yet. If what Yakima says is true and the bed for the EV has changed enough to throw off fitment of the Bedrock rack, there is no way for us to know what will fit until we get our hands on the vehicle or we get fitment info from Yakima.
