How to Connect RV 20 lb Tank to 100 lb Tank

Question:

I need to hook a 100 pound tank to a 20 pound tank, they have them at stores for refilling 100 pound tanks but I cant find one to buy. The 100 pound tank is female and 20 pound end is just like what you use to connect a grill

Hey Lynn, I recommend using the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting w Hose # 103615 which will allow you to connect your 20 lb tank to a 100 lb tank. The red type 1 ACME fitting will connect to one of your tanks, and the pigtail from the tank will connect to the brass side of the fitting. Then you connect the POL side of the included 6' hose to connect to your 100lbs tank.

For an auto change over regulator, the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS is a great choice that will suit your needs.

@Lynn Yeah that picture looked like a Type 1 male fitting to a POL male fitting. The Type one is on the smaller tanks like what you see on the front of RVs and the POL is the type that is used on the onboard tanks. It looked like what you had was an adapter though so I wasn't sure how that was getting used in your setup.

@JamesonC i was given from dead relative the tall tank (ikr others get $$ tell me I was their favorite) when I go to get my smaller tanks for grill which I am thinking is same as camper one they use that attachment to fill the standard tank for grill from their 100 pound tank
