Troubleshooting Propane Gas Supply Pressure Issue After Installing T Kit

Question:

I connected this to my 2000 Holiday Rambler travel trailer adding a 100 lb propane supply tank. I have the valve open at the quick disconnect, but the propane is not reaching the camper from the 100 lb tank. The connections seem to be correct and the tank line has emptied the smaller tank. I have disconnected and reconnected the connections. LP gas did fill the quick disconnect line, but pressure from the tank is still not moving into the camper. What could I be missing?

If you are certain that you have the valve open on the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting in kit # 103615 and that your 100-lb tank has enough propane to deliver sufficient gas pressure then I would check the connections on the travel trailer. If you refer to the linked video for this kit you will note that the valve is open when it is lined up with the black fitting on the T. If it is at a right angle to that part it is closed.

Pressure from the tank will vary a lot depending on the ambient temperature. For instance, a 20-lb tank with 4.7-gallons of liquid propane will deliver gas pressure of 135-lbs in a 100-degree environment. But if that exact same tank is in a 10-degree environment it will output only 20-lbs of pressure! Longer/additional hoses cause further loss of usable gas pressure.

Also, it does not take too long for critters like spiders and other insects to take up residence in small protected spaces such as your propane fittings and internal hoses. If these were exposed for any length of time I would check them for foreign material.
