Should ST205/75R14 Trailer Tire Run At Max PSI

Question:
I am using a st205/75r14 8ply load range D tire , should I run the tire at max psi of 65psi? It is stamped on side of tire. Thank you

Hello Jeremy; the general rule for trailer tires is to always run them at their max psi. Most manufacturers intend for the tires to be inflated to the max and that is also where they get their rating for the capacity. If you run it under the max psi the tire has an unknown capacity. There are a few exceptions with brands like Goodyear but those brands will have a chart showing the capacity at various pressure ratings.
