Question:

wondering why there is a difference in TW rating for these two products. I cannot find anything about thickness or materials of construction that would explain. Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2 to 2 Trailer Hitch - 7 Long hr26 and the other is Trailer Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2 to 2 Trailer Hitch - 7 Long e53YR

Hey Walter,

The quality of the steel plays a factor here but it also really just comes down to testing. At 351lbs # e53YR isn't going to just collapse but 350lbs might have just been the goal when it was designed so that's all it was tested to. The Brophy # hr26 has quite a bit more engineering and testing put into it, which is why it's also three times the price of the # e53YR.
