Question:
Do your racks require a tonneau base or any other rails? I dont want a cover I want the rack to mount to factory sides

Hi James,
All the ladder racks that fit your 2023 Chevy Colorado either mount through the stake pockets or clamp onto the bed rails, so there aren't any that are just attached to the factory sides. I definitely recommend getting one that clamps onto the rails because a stake pocket mount on your Colorado requires removing the taillight assembly to access that rear stake pocket, which is a real pain.
So with that in mind, the rack I would go with for your '23 Colorado is the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-58.
The OverHaul # Y01151-58 just clamps onto your rails like I mentioned, and I've added a link below to a video showing it being installed on a 2023 Colorado so you can see how it attaches. Apart from pretty easy mounting, it also has adjustable height so you can choose what works best for you, a 500 lb capacity, and even T-slots in the rails to easily mount accessories or even tie-downs like the Eye Bolts # Y01162.
