Can I Remove the Air Line from a Push to Connect Air Bag Fitting?

Question:
My name is Dan and I just installed your Firestone air bag manual system in my 2024 Ram 3500, my problem is that I cut the tube to long and need to shorten it. With the push and connect fitting once you push it in how can you remove it and shorten it?

Hey Dan you can't get that air line out without damaging the fitting item # F3031-1. The fitting clamps onto the line to keep it secure so it doesn't back out. Even if you get the line out you'll break the teeth and then I wouldn't trust the fitting to be reliable under pressure. You're going to need to replace the fitting or find a way to secure the excess line.

Hey Dan, how did things go after you replaced the fitting on your Firestone air bag system? Did the new connection hold pressure the way you needed? Your feedback could help others working on the same setup.
