Should the Tekonsha Voyager Light Up if No Trailer Is Connected

If the trailer is not connected should there be any light and how can I test?Thank you.

Expert Reply:
Without a trailer connector there should be no light on the Voyager brake controller # 39510. When a trailer is connected the light should turn green. And when the controller is applying the trailer brakes you should see a shade of orange.
If you think there is something wrong with your controller you can use the two articles I have linked on testing and troubleshooting brake controllers.
