Should Brake Controller Wiring Harness be Used for Second Vehicle Kit for Roadmaster RM-98850
Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 09/07/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2022 Ford E 450 Jayco motorhome. I want to wire in the 98850 Second motorhome brake and warning light. Ive found the tekonsha plug on my dash to plug into. My question is the wires dont match up with the 3034S harness I have. The blue one matches with the other blue one. I have a smaller brown with a stripe next but it wont match with the other plug. Theres an empty space where it goes. Question is do I have the right harness for my rv or is there something I need to do to make it work together. I assume the brown wire is the ground wire on my rv. The main blue wire lines up perfectly. Im assuming the ground has to match up somewhere to make it work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey Tim, you wouldn't want to use your brake controller install wiring to install the part # RM-98850 as it's a totally different setup. If you check out the install instructions link I attached on this page you will see where it should be wired instead.

Hey Tim, were you able to get the Second Motorhome Braking Monitor wired correctly after checking the instructions? Knowing what worked could help others trying to connect the same setup on their motorhome.
