Cantilever Extension For 2015 Ford F250 Supercab With Thule TracRac System

Question:
I have a tracrac system on my 2015 f250 supercab. I wish to buy one cross bar system to mount over the supercab doors so that I may carry my 17’ canoe. If you don’t have, would a cantilever work? Thinking it doesn’t help with the needed height for the curve of the bow.

Thanks for getting in touch, Lee. The Cantilever Extension # TH24001XT is definitely the best option for adding a 3rd crossbar to your 2015 F250 with the Thule TracRac system. It will sit a few inches up off the roof, but the only way to know if it will be high enough to work with the curve of your canoe will be to try it out. You can always shift the canoe farther to the front or rear of the vehicle and you should be able to find a position where it will not contact the roof.

Hey Lee, how did the Cantilever Extension work out for carrying your canoe on the F250? Did the extra height give you enough clearance for the bow curve? Your feedback could really help others setting up a similar rack.
