Replacement Shank For Older Model Of Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 09/02/2024

Question:

Old unknown model number grey Yakima Holdup bike rack. The pin holding the bike tray in position was some type of internally spring loaded design, not the pin you offer with the threads below the barrel of the pin. Do I have to replace the entire hitch spine on this old design? I cant find the pin with separate spring that would be a direct replacement. Please help! Thank you.

Hello! Your rack definitely appears to be an older model of the HoldUp bike rack, and sadly we do not offer a direct replacement for your pin. Replacing the whole shank will be your best bet since it will come with the updated latch spring pin. It looks like your rack is for a 2" hitch, and for that the correct shank assembly is the following:

Hey, how did things go with the replacement hitch shank for your Yakima HoldUp rack? Did the updated latch spring pin solve the issue with your old design? Your feedback could really help others working with older versions of this rack.
