Recommended Hitch for a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 08/28/2024

Question:

Will this hitch, or the C97JR, fit the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Anniversary Edition? This particular model has a dual exhaust outlet and rear facia that looks the same as the Overland and Summit models. This model is equipped with 20inch wheels, and the spare sits in a tray located inside the rear cargo area. Id guess that the steel bumper support behind the facia is the same, but I thought Id confirm before I place an order.

Yes, it will, however you're going to lose the ability to store your spare tire beneath your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The Curt Hitch item # C96NR does indeed fit the Anniversary Edition but along with every other hitch, including the Mopar 82219041AA, none of them leave room for the full size 20" spare.

The Curt Hitch item # C96NR is custom fit for the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe it fits all models except for the Trailhawk so your Anniversary Edition model will not cause a compatibility issue. I really like this hitch because it can be completely concealed behind the rear bumper when not in use.

I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get this hitch set up.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C27BR and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

Hey, how did the Curt hitch fit on your Grand Cherokee 4xe Anniversary Edition? It sounds like the hidden design could be a nice touch when the hitch isn’t in use. Sharing how it turned out could help others with the same model.

@JerredH - It turned out great! I'd imagine that the bumper support and cover are the same as the higher trim levels. I did the installation myself in the driveway with simple hand tools using the online videos as guides. The nervous part was popping the rear bumper cover off, but once I had that off, it was smooth sailing. The Jeep looks like it did when I picked it up from the dealer until I remove the cover over the receiver to reveal the hitch.

@ScottW That's awesome! Glad the videos were able to help you out so much. Popping off the body panels is always nerve racking to me as well.
