Replacement 7k Slipper Springs For A Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit

Question:
Last year I installed the Roadmaster Comfort Ride slipper spring kit for 8K axles 2580, and the shock kit 2460 on my Grand Design 310GK. It has 7K axles, but I installed the 8K kit as some insurance against suspension failure. Of course the other hope was improved ride. We have seen a worse ride than with the stock system, as evidenced by items inside shifting or falling significantly more than before. This is the only change made to suspension, and I surmise that there is no more movement being transferred to the RV due to the stiffer springs, even with the shock kit installed. Im thinking of replacing the 8K slipper springs with 7K slipper springs, and wonder if these springs would fit in the Roadmaster slipper box. They appear to be similarly shaped, and the length seems right, but the width might be larger. Im not sure if the 2-in width is actual, or nominal, and the real width is less than 2-in. The roadmaster springs are not a full 2-in wide. If these would not work, do you have, or could you get springs that would work?

Hi Kirk,
Having too stiff of a spring can give you a bouncy ride, which is most likely why you're having an issue with things being tossed around inside the trailer. I don't have one of the Comfort Ride slipper springs available to confirm if all the dimensions line up with the # e74SR, but Roadmaster does have replacement springs available under part # RM75EQ that you could use to drop your system down to the appropriate capacity.

Hey Kirk, did you end up switching to the Roadmaster 7K springs to see if that improved your ride quality? Your results could really help others trying to fine-tune their suspension setup.
