Identifying Replacement 8-Bolt Hub for Jayco Designer 5th Wheel

Question:

I have a 2007 Jayco Designer fifth wheel with 8 lug, 16inch aluminum wheels, 12X2 brakes and 9/16X18 studs. One of the hubs is cracked and it recently lost six lugs and broke off four studs while traveling. I want to replace this hub and have a spare for a proposed trip to Alaska next summer. My question is this, the hub I see in these pictures for the 8-219-13UC3 has a kind of star pattern of raised metal where the studs are located. My current hub does not. Will this be a problem with tire placement?

In order to select a correct replacement hub for the damaged unit on your Jayco 5th Wheel trailer you will need to match several identifiers from the original.

First, you will want to note the axle capacity, which is usually found on a sticker or plate on the axle. Next you will need to pull the bearings and grease seal to obtain their part numbers. Of course you also need to choose a new hub with the same bolt pattern as the original so that your existing wheels will mount. The linked photo shows the typical location of these part numbers.

With that information in hand you can use the link provided to narrow the product results using the filters at the left side of the page to those hub/drum assemblies with the correct bearing numbers to match yours. Once you find a hub/drum with the matching bearing numbers you can be confident of its fit.
