What Bearings Should Be Used with a Dexter Hub
Updated 05/19/2014 | Published 05/17/2014 >
Question:
I bought a couple of Dexter 12inch drums they came with pre-installed races. I recall you were not supposed to split race and bearing sets, but that a while ago, before the uniformity that modern manufacturing provides. Is it OK to use the bearing cage from a different set along with the pre-installed races, or should I use only the components from the bearing set i.e. replace the races?

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as you find the correct bearings for the hub you should be fine. If you wanted to email me back with what Dexter hub/drums you bought I could help you pick out the correct parts. Or if you search the part number and find the product page the bearing numbers will be listed in the description.
