Question:
I damaged the retaining hook on my trailer chain. It is a closed system on each end, so how can I replace either the hook or entire chain? Do I need to cut it off, then replace it with something that has a hook on either end? If so- I am looking for a 24inch chain made in the USA, with two hooks. Any recommendations? Attaching pics so you can see my dilemma. Thanks!

Hey Tim, yes you are going to need to cut off the old chain or cut off the loop that is welded to the trailer frame so you can install a new 24 inch safety chain like the part # TCTSCG30-724-03x1. I would cut the chain though so that you can reuse the loop on your frame.
Then you can use a quick link like the part # 6590-044-04 to attach the chain to the loop.
