Trailer Hitch For Hyundai Ioniq5 And Volkswagen ID4 - Is Bumper Trimming Required?

Hello, Im considering leasing either a Hyundai Ioniq5 or a VW ID4 RWD. Could you point me to any compatible hitches that do not require cutting the bumper or fascia if any? Thank you, Yutaka

Hello Yutaka, thanks for reaching out. As far as the Hyundai Ioniq5 goes, all of the hitches will require trimming of the plastic underbody panel. There is not a hitch available for this vehicle that requires no trimming.

For the Volkswagen ID4, all of the hitches will require trimming of the underbody panel and/or bumper fascia. For the ID4, the hitch also requires temporary removal of the bumper, and permanent removal of the impact structure. I do know that Volkswagen offers an OEM hitch for the ID4, so if you plan to lease one and you need a hitch, finding a vehicle with the OEM hitch will be your best bet.
